Project Avani and Varsha Niti

Project Avani

Project Avani focuses on improving soil health and fertility to ensure sustainable agricultural productivity and long-term farm resilience. Recognizing that soil degradation, nutrient imbalance, and compaction are major challenges for farmers, the project promotes scientific soil management practices combined with natural and organic farming approaches.

The initiative emphasizes regular soil testing to help farmers understand nutrient levels and make informed decisions. It works to reduce soil compaction through appropriate land management practices, while improving soil structure and fertility by encouraging the use of organic inputs such as compost, green manure, and bio-fertilizers. Special focus is given to balancing soil pH using natural methods, enabling better nutrient absorption and healthier crop growth.

Through farmer training, field demonstrations, and continuous capacity building, project Avani empowers farmers with the knowledge and skills needed to restore and maintain soil health. By blending traditional wisdom with modern soil science, the project enhances productivity, reduces input dependency, and supports sustainable farming systems.

Project Varsha Niti

Project Varsha Nithi focuses on sustainable water management to help farmers build resilience against climate change and water scarcity. With shifting rainfall patterns and declining groundwater levels, especially in rain-fed regions, efficient water use has become essential for agriculture and livelihoods.

The project strengthens water security by promoting practical systems for conservation, storage, and recharge. It emphasizes water harvesting—both rainwater collection and groundwater recharge—along with solutions like farm ponds, borewell recharge, and drip irrigation to ensure efficient and year-round water availability.

Through farmer engagement and on-ground implementation, Varsha Nithi combines traditional knowledge with modern techniques to improve water use efficiency, farm productivity, and long-term sustainability.
